Z-901 Product Description

The SciAps Z-901 is a specialized handheld LIBS analyzer that offers a lightweight, ergonomic alternative to traditional spark OES systems. Utilizing a high-powered pulsed laser rather than X-rays, the Z-901 is uniquely capable of analyzing light elements and providing micro-analysis with its 100 µm laser spot size.

Available in three targeted configurations—Standard, CSi, and Li—the Z-901 is built for versatility:

  • The Standard Z-901 is a general-purpose tool for alloy, mining, and environmental applications. It features “Dual-Burn” technology, allowing for rapid “air-burn” sorting or high-precision “argon-purge” analysis for lower limits of detection.

  • The Z-901 CSi is the premier choice for NDT professionals who already own an XRF but need to add carbon and silicon measurements. It allows for the verification of L- and H-grade stainless steels and carbon equivalents (CE) in the field.

  • The Z-901 Li is the world’s only dedicated handheld lithium analyzer, purpose-built for exploration in rocks, ores, and brines without the regulatory burdens of X-ray or radioactive isotopes.

Operating on an Android platform, the Z-901 integrates seamlessly into modern workflows with built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Its rugged metal body and quartz window make it exceptionally durable for field use, while the dual-camera system ensures precise laser targeting and comprehensive photo-documentation of every test.
