Walk-In Fume Hood CompactLine DCL 1800

POL-EKO Walk-In Fume Hood CompactLine DCL 1800 The DCL 1800 Walk-In is a massive 1.8-meter wide fume hood designed for the containment of large laboratory equipment and high-volume chemical processes. Featuring a floor-level workspace and an extra-high internal chamber, it allows for easy access via trolleys or for the installation of tall pilot plants. It is constructed from galvanized steel with a choice of internal linings (Standard, Ceramic, or PP) and is equipped with a Schneider airflow monitoring system for EN 14175 compliance. With a dual-sash system and integrated service modules, it provides maximum safety and flexibility for industrial R&D and pilot-scale chemical production.

Description

The POL-EKO DCL 1800 Walk-In is engineered for laboratories that have outgrown the constraints of standard bench-top fume hoods. By eliminating the under-bench cabinet and worktop, this model provides an internal height of approximately 2.1 meters, allowing for the setup of complex glassware assemblies, reactors, or floor-standing centrifuges.

Design and Accessibility:

Floor-Level Entry: The unit features a low-profile entry sill, allowing technicians to roll in heavy equipment on trolleys without lifting.

Telescopic/Double Sash System: To manage the large frontal opening, the DCL 1800 Walk-In typically utilizes a double-sash system made of toughened glass. This allows users to open only the section required for the task, maintaining high face velocity and operator protection.

Customizable Interior: Depending on the application, the unit can be lined with Buchtal ceramic tiles (CR variant) for acid/thermal resistance or Polypropylene (PP variant) for high-corrosive environments.

Advanced Safety & Extraction:

Multi-Point Extraction: Large chambers are prone to air stagnation. The DCL 1800 Walk-In uses a sophisticated triple-back-wall system with exhaust slots at the bottom, middle, and top. This ensures that heavy solvent vapors, ambient-weight fumes, and light gases (like Hydrogen) are all captured effectively.

Schneider Monitoring (EN 14175): Safety is managed by the Schneider FM 550 system. It continuously monitors the airflow and provides visual and acoustic alarms to the operator if the sash is opened too far or if the building’s exhaust system fails.
+1

Decompression Safety: A ceiling-mounted safety flap provides immediate pressure relief in the event of an accidental explosion or sudden exothermic reaction.

Integrated Utilities: Even without a traditional worktop, the DCL 1800 Walk-In remains a fully serviced workstation. Utilities are housed in side-mounted service pillars, which can include:

Multiple 230V or 400V electrical sockets.

Specialized gas connections (Nitrogen, Vacuum, Compressed Air).

Water taps and high-level drainage points for cooling loops.

Primary Applications:

Pilot Plant Operations: Large-scale chemical reactors and distillation setups.

Material Science: Testing of large industrial components under controlled atmospheres.

Waste Management: Safe decanting and handling of large chemical waste drums.

Biotechnology: Containment for floor-standing fermenters and large-scale chromatography units.
